Harley-Davidson and Garmin are proud to announce the launch of the
Harley-Davidson® Roadtech™ zūmo 660 – a customised motorcycle navigation system
designed specifically for use in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
With a sleek yet robust design, glove-friendly and sunlight-readable 4.3 inch
touch screen, and waterproof to IPX7 standard, the Road Tech zūmo comes
pre-loaded with maps making it ideal for the open road, as well as in and out of
town. Meanwhile, the unique built-in Harley-Davidson database feature means
riders can always find their nearest dealer, as well as easily share their
favourite routes with the global community.
Nicola Francis, Harley-Davidson’s European Marketing Specialist for Parts,
Accessories and MotorClothes, said: “our riders relish the freedom and
exhilaration that riding a Harley brings which is why our partnership with
Garmin is a natural fit, broadening and enhancing the possibilities for
exploration and discovery on a Europe-wide scale.”
Roger Jollis, Garmin’s Director of OEM and Mobile Marketing, added:
“Harley-Davidson riders are renowned the world over for their passion and
commitment to riding. We are confident that the joining forces of our two iconic
brands will promise an even better on-bike experience.”
The Road Tech zūmo 660 navigator is a customised version of Garmin’s popular
motorcycle specific GPS device; including a custom handlebar mount to ensure a
secure fix. With advanced lane guidance, this portable sat-nav ensures that the
rider is in the correct lane, whilst the 3D mapping of buildings and integrated
speakers make navigation even clearer. Riders can also coordinate rallies and
meet-ups on the go by using the handy Bluetooth function, and the pre-loaded
European City Navigator NT mapping provides a whole host of Points of Interest –
including hotels, restaurants, petrol stations and attractions.
The Road Tech zūmo 660 is also equipped with high sensitivity GPS HotFix™
receiver, ensuring excellent coverage whether in forests, by tall buildings or
on a desert track. An SD card slot also allows the expansion of mapping or
additional features such as Language Guides, Topographic cartography or the Good
Pub Guide.
For riders occasionally wishing to travel by other means, the Road Tech Zūmo
660 also comes with an automotive mount with integrated speaker and also has a
rechargeable Lithium ion battery (up to 5 hours use) which is handy for
navigating by foot or route planning in the comfort of the armchair.
The Road Tech Zūmo 660 will be available from November 2009 at authorised
Harley-Davidson dealers.
